Wildlife rehabilitators are not allowed to capture and/or relocate wildlife as a matter of convenience, public safety, or just because wildlife is in the wrong place.
Examples of situations in which wildlife rehabilitators usually cannot act include:
- Raccoons living in an attic space
- Birds nesting in a chimney structure
- Bats in the house
- Animals that are perceived to be rabid
- Venomous reptiles in close proximity to human living spaces
