Nuisance or Threat to Human Safety

CoyoteWildlife rehabilitators are not allowed to capture and/or relocate wildlife as a matter of convenience, public safety, or just because wildlife is in the wrong place.

Examples of situations in which wildlife rehabilitators usually cannot act include:

  • Raccoons living in an attic space
  • Birds nesting in a chimney structure
  • Bats in the house
  • Animals that are perceived to be rabid
  • Venomous reptiles in close proximity to human living spaces
